lpadmin command is used to configure printers and classes in the CUPS suite, and is also used to set the print server default printer.

lpadmin(options)(parameters)

Options

-c: Add the printer to the class;
-i: Set a "system V" style interface script for the printer;
-m: Set a standard "system V" interface script or "PPD" file from the mode directory;
-o: Set options for "PPD" or server;
-r: remove the printer from the class;
-u: Set printer user-level access control;
-D: Provide a text description for the printer;
-E: Allow the printer to accept print tasks;
-L: Provide a text description for the printer location;
-P: Specify a ppd description file for the printer;
-p: Specify the name of the printer to be configured;
-d: Set the default printer.
