Show modules loaded into the system

Supplementary instructions

lsmod command is used to display status information of modules that have been loaded into the kernel. After executing the lsmod command, all modules loaded into the system will be listed. The core of the Linux operating system has modular characteristics. Therefore, when compiling the core, all functions must be put into the core. You can compile these functions into separate modules and load them separately when needed.

  • Column 1: Indicates the name of the module.
  • Column 2: Indicates the size of the module.
  • Column 3: Indicates the number of dependent modules.
  • Column 4: Indicates the content of dependent modules.

Usually when using the lsmod command, a command like lsmod | grep -i ext3 will be used to query whether certain modules are loaded in the current system.
