Can be used to decompress files, an upgraded version of gzip's parallel implementation
pigz command can be used to decompress files. The most important thing is that it supports multi-threaded parallel processing and decompression is faster than gzip. Home page: http://zlib.net/pigz/

Can be used in combination with tar
, compression command
tar -cvf - dir1 dir2 dir3 | pigz -p 8 > output.tgz
Unzip command
pigz -p 8 -d output.tgz
If it is in gzip format, tar decompression is also supported.
tar -xzvf output.tgz
