Used to display status information of files

Supplementary instructions

stat command is used to display status information of files. The output information of the stat command is more detailed than the output information of the ls command.

grammar

stat(option)(parameter)

Options

-L: supports symbolic links;
-f: Display file system status instead of file status;
-t: Output information in a concise manner;
--help: Display help information for the command;
--version: Display the version information of the instruction.

Parameters

File: Specify the common file or device file name corresponding to the file system to display information.

Example

[root@localhost ~]# ls -l myfile
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2010-10-09 myfile

[root@localhost ~]# stat myfile
